Giant Clam Sanctuary

Snorkel among giant clams in a community-run sanctuary on the south coast

On Camiguin’s south-east coast in Guinsiliban, a community-run marine sanctuary protects giant clams in shallow water off the beach — the site is commonly referred to by its barangay and beach names (Kibila / Cantaan). Local guides take visitors out to float above clams that can grow larger than a metre across.

The visit supports the community’s conservation work and the clam nursery. The beach itself is quiet and the snorkelling easy, making it a good stop on the east and south side of the island.
